I drank my green smoothie
Many titles in this blog may say "I drank my green smoothie" because this is a one day at a time thing with me. One more day that I drink a smoothie is one more day that I did something good for my body, and one more day towards forming a life long "good" habit. I truly want to be able in a year to be typing on this blog saying "I drank my green smoothie"! But that is up to me and only me. I do feel so energetic today. Some pants I tried on were a tiny bit looser!! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Feelin' good!
I have lost 2 more pounds and I feel great. At times I feel empty, not hungry. The books say I will get used to the empty feeling. I know I can because I know that with all the nutritious fruits and veggies in my body, I'm not hungry. We eat too much food. I didn't need a book to tell me that! It is all worth it for health. We went to hear Paul Nison speak. He cured himself of inflammatory bowel disease More and more I am convinced that ALL disease can be cured and prevented with a healthy diet. Now I am convinced that "healthy diet" equals RAW!

Raw and Lovin' It!
So far, so good. I am not completely raw yet, but I am learning fast. I am reading "raw" books and studying how this lifestyle is going to make and keep me healthy. I am drinking a green smoothie every day. My appetite has gotten under control so I am not thinking about food constantly or thinking I'm hungry all the time. This morning I drank freshly juiced beets, carrots, and cucumbers. It was delicious and refreshing.

Still learning
This is day 6 of my quest for health featuring green smoothies! I feel good and have lost 3 pounds. I feel in control of my eating. I haven't craved sweets or 'bad' food. Yesterday I ate some plain tuna and some natural potato chips. The rest of my food was green smootie and watermelon. I really want to 'stick with it'.

Great Food!
All the raw food I ate at the party was very good! There was a key lime pie made out of avocados and lime juice with a nut crust. My daughter made some refried beans that had no beans in it but was delicious. She served it with some nut chips she made. It tasted like it had come from a Mexican food restaurant! We also learned more about why people eat raw; it's so good for your body and heals diseases. I'm excited to learn more about this way of eating. Just think about it; everything that has been cooked is dead. Raw food is alive. Case closed.

Raw Food Party
Who would have thought I would want to go to a raw food party? When I received the invitation, I did not want to go. But after I read 'Green for Life', I can't wait to get there!! Tonight!

So excited about something new!
I thought I had read most everything on eating healthy. Not that I constantly research, but I know what is healthy and, of course, what's not! But a book my daughter Amy gave me has opened up a whole new world! When I thought of greens, I thought of turnip greens. They are good with bacon cooked in them. I have never cooked them but once. They didn't taste like my brother-in-law Leonard's, which are delicious. So to sum up the amount of 'greens' I have eaten in my life would be the sum of maybe 20 servings. And these were cooked! With bacon! I have eaten plenty iceburg lettuce which has no flavor and no nutrients. Amy gave me a book called 'Green for Life' by Victoria Boutenko and it changed my life in 2 hours! Green smoothies! You can live on these drinks! They have all the protein, vitamins, iron, and ETC. you need!
So this morning, after 2 days of green smoothies, I woke up alert and ready to drink another quart of smoothie. They have satisfied me, like the book promises, so I don't crave food all during the day. I have a lot to learn but I can't wait to learn more!
